Peridotite from Ardnamurchan, Scotland rock thin section Earrings (ER42)
A thin rock section of Peridotite was viewed by polarised light microscopy. Peridotite is an igneous rock. From the Ardnamurchan volcano, now eroded down almost to the magma chamber, from where this sample would have originally come. Contains olivine, pyroxene and some feldspar.
60 Million years old. (the most recent volcano in UK)
Earrings are printed onto one side of 0.5mm thick Aluminium (reverse side plain Aluminium finish) to give a lightweight and durable glossy and scratch resistant earring. Aluminium discs measure 16mm in diameter and are mounted on silver plated earring wires. Total length from top of earwire to bottom of disc 32mm.
